"The knowledge that every day there is something more to learn,
something higher to reach for, something new to make for others,
makes each day infinitely precious"

Women's Playwriting Project

Our Women’s Playwriting Project is a new program designed to develop and produce new works by emerging female playwrights and to help create more opportunities for women directors, producers and performers in the Long Island/NYC area. The goal of this event is to create opportunities, mentorship, education, and a platform for female artists to share their powerful stories. We do this by providing space, resources, marketing, and creative support through a series of rehearsals and performances.

This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in lieu of live performances, we will be turning our top 25 plays into short films to be shown at an outdoor venue during the summer of 2021.

Hello Everyone! Our fourth installment of virtually staged plays is coming soon! Come celebrate new work from women playwrights selected for our Women's Playwriting Project Virtual Project.

Written by Women. Produced by Women. Performed by Local NY talent.

Saturday, May 1st 7-10 PM (EST)
Sunday, May 2nd 6-9 PM (EST)

Tickets = Suggested Donations:

The live theatre and entertainment industries have suffered immensely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Spark is not immune from that reality. We have not been able to hold our typical LIVE fundraisers or shows to bring in much revenue and as a result we are asking for suggested donations for this event. Any donation would be truly appreciated. There is even a custom option which will allow you to donate anywhere from $1 dollar & up!

We are hoping that audience members who can donate will consider doing so, though, we understand that times are hard for everyone and want everyone who wants to watch to be able to show up virtually and support.

How does it work exactly?

Great question! If you are donating please fill out the donation form and make sure that you enter your email. If you don't enter your email we will have no way to send you the event password. The sooner you submit the form the sooner we can get you the password. You will get a donation notification/receipt from the Giveforms platform. Giveforms also notifies us! Once we receive notification we will send you the password. :-)

If you can't make a donation today or are having trouble with our form please email us @:

Why is this event password protected?

This event is password protected to protect the work of our playwrights. Password protection allows us to know who is watching our event. It helps prevent their work from being reproduced illegally.

When can I log in?

We will be opening our live stream portal about 5 minutes prior to the show beginning.

Do I HAVE to donate?
No! You do not have to donate to access the show but we hope you can contribute even something as small as a $1.00 as which will really help us keep our productions moving forward. It will help us cover our password protected live feeds and help us work towards our short film production goals.
